Focus and Scope

Journal of Political and Governance Studies (JPGS) is an open-access and peer-reviewed academic journal on political science and governance. We publish original and up-to-date articles that address important issues in theory and practice, focusing on Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and the global context.

JPGS explores various aspects of political systems, governance, and public policy at the local, national, and regional levels. Main topics include political parties, voter behaviour, democracy, authoritarianism, public policy, government management, bureaucratic reform, transparency, accountability, and public participation.

We welcome original research articles, empirical studies, theoretical studies, and literature reviews that present new paradigms in politics and governance. International experts rigorously review each work to ensure cross-border relevance and scientific quality.
